I changed careers several times after the birth of my second child but never felt fulfilled until I discovered the art of cake design. There is something special about a good meal, but it’s the cake that gets all the attention and makes the crowd go WOW!

My internship at the school was invaluable for I learned not only how to inspire myself and create beautiful cakes; but also how to share and teach others how to create, which ultimately has been the best experience I could have ever expected.

Bonnie, Sarah, Charmaine and Eda are constantly striving to teach and exceed expectations. They ensure that every detail is looked at and that every student is helped. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t have to think twice.  I have my own business and I call it “Cake-A-Tiers”.

Thank you Bonnie and the gang for all your hard work, my hope now is that I make you proud!

I first came to the Bonnie Gordon School of Cake Design as a student after taking Introduction to Cake Decorating. I knew this was my calling; however, I was terrified to take on clients before I was absolutely confident in my skills. As an intern, I was able to assist the teachers with various tasks for each course offered and before and after classes, I was able to bother everyone with my hundreds of questions! Through the internship, I ended up attending classes as many as five times and it was such a great way to reinforce everything I had learned.

In the end, I was able to help students and troubleshoot almost any situation. It was an invaluable experience. Today, I have my own business "Roxycakes", and I owe it all to this internship. I take on every new project with absolute confidence and apply all of the values I’ve learned through my internship. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity the school has given me and wish every future intern the same wonderful experience!

The opportunity to work as an intern at a premier cake design school like Bonnie Gordon helped me to evolve a hobby into an art that I have become very passionate about.

Cake design for me started with the desire to create my daughter's first birthday cake. I had taken courses at a local school but I wanted my skills and knowledge to excel beyond the basics. Being an intern at Bonnie Gordon in addition to taking classes such as Baking and Buttercream, The Art of Sugar Blossoms, and Preserves for Signature Cakes helped me to perfect my skills as a cake designer and baker. More importantly, the experience as her intern gave me the confidence to experiment, design, and create cakes of my own.

The experience has allowed me to set goals for myself to which I have already started sharing my creations and designs with family, friends, and clients of my own.
